How to Make the Game Doodle Jump

For our first series of video tutorials we are recreating the once “top of the charts” mobile game, Doodle Jump. Doodle Jump was created by the developers Lima Sky and was released to iOS on April 6, 2009, to the Android market on March 2, 2010 and finally to other platforms at later times. Lima Sky was was inspired by the game PapiJump created by Sunflat Games. In the year 2011 Doodle Jump sold 10 million copies on iOS and Android markets and then 15 million across all platforms. At the top of its popularity Doodle Jump reached 25,000 downloads a day for 4 consecutive months, an outstanding rate and bar set for the time.

In this series of video tutorials we will be using the Unity 3D game engine to recreate our own version of the game Doodle Jump. The step-by-step instructions we will give will cover all the art creation, animations, sounds, and coding need to build the game from scratch. We will then show you has to re-skin and modify your game to make it completely original and then we’ll show you how to publish your game to the public.
